Here’s your chance to win an overnight stay at gourmet hotel , a traditional country inn located in the Cotswolds with a high culinary standing…
The Feathered Nest Inn is a beautiful gourmet bolthole located in the pretty village of Nether Westcote in the Cotswolds. A traditional country inn, the original building is thought to date back to the 15th century, but has been lovingly updated and thoughtfully refurbished by owners Tony and Amanda Timmer to ensure it retains its period charm.
Guests can enjoy top quality culinary offerings at The Feathered Nest Inn, as Head Chef Kuba Winkowski serves up a seasonal 3 AA Rosette award-winning menu featuring modern British cuisine with influences from his Polish heritage. The talented young chef – who was recently named Craft Guild’s National Chef of the Year 2019 – trained under some of the world’s most renowned chefs including Michael Roux at Le Gavroche, Gary Rhodes at Rhodes 24 and Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.
The Feathered Nest boasts numerous spaces to eat and drink, including the beautiful Garden Room and the light and airy Dining Room, both of which lead into the gardens. The interiors combine the contemporary and traditional, with cool muted tones, mismatched furniture and exposed wooden beams. Meanwhile the stunning English gardens provide the perfect spot for alfresco dining and drinking and offer stunning views of the Evenlode Valley.
Elsewhere a traditional bar features cosy snugs, a roaring wood burner and quirky horse saddle high stools. A wide selection of traditional ales are on tap and diners can tuck into Chef Winkowski’s delicious charcuterie, which he produces from his homemade smokehouse. Oenophiles are well taken care of with more than 280 varieties of wine on offer, including many from unusual or smaller vineyards, which work exclusively with The Feathered Nest in the UK. For travellers looking to rest their heads there are four individually styled guest rooms, which again marry the traditional with the modern. Easily accessible and ideally located in the heart of the Cotswolds, the mainline train is located a few miles away in the village of Kingham.
