What? A slice of Andalucian culture returns to London this May to celebrate Southern Spain’s traditional spring fairs. Taking place on Bank Holiday weekend, Feria De Londres will be taking over Bernie Spain Gardens in Southbank to serve hungry Londoners delicious Spanish tapas, cocktails and various tastings. Spanning Friday to Sunday, the event is sponsored by Tio Pepe and visitors can expect everything from vibrant Flamenco dancing shows to interactive workshops, live Spanish music and family-friendly activities.
Southbank will be brimming with colourful food and drinks stalls to recreate the scenes seen at Spanish local Ferias over the weekend. From seafood paella to croquetas, filled tortillas or even some churros, Spanish food experts and producers will be sizzling up a storm in the kitchen. In terms of what to wash it down with, some of Spain’s most refreshing drinks will be served and Tio Pepe will be hosting a series of Sherry masterclasses to allow guests to explore the different tastes of Spanish wine. Try the traditional Andalucian cocktail, Tio Pepe Rebujito which comprises of Fino sherry, lemonade and fresh mint and is always served with ice. The ultimate refreshing summertime beverage.
It’s not a Feria without singing and dancing. Flamenco dancers will be on board to create an authentic Spanish festival atmosphere. Guests can also relax in the gardens whilst immersing themselves in live performances from several Spanish bands. The party will end with a rousing DJ set to get everyone up and dancing in true Feria style.
Bring the family along for a taste of Spain as children can get their faces painted, hair styled and take part in arts and crafts activities. Sevillana dance lessons and flamenco rhythm workshops are also on offer to entertain.
The event is free and starts 25 May from 4pm-9pm, 26 May 12pm-9pm and 27 May 12pm-8pm.
