One of Europe’s leading vegan health food events, VegFest UK, is returning to the Brighton Centre this March to kick off the first of their 2019 UK dates. Guests can expect over 250 stalls, live cookery demonstrations, live music, yoga classes and more. Their food village is vegan heaven: think Southern fried seitan burgers and smoked tofu rinds at Feral Food Store, plantain vegan patties and jerk soya at , vegan tofish and chips at Simply Vegan and fragrant Indian street food at . There will also be an Art of Compassion Exhibition, showcasing art posters dedicated to veganism and animal rights, as well as talks on animal welfare hosted by prominent campaigners.
VegFest was the brainchild of manager Tim Barford, who wanted to mix the seriousness of veganism with the fun atmosphere of festivals. Their first event took place in Bristol in the cosy surroundings of the Watershed on the Harbourside back in 2003, under the name “Bristol Vegan Fayre”. Since then they have expanded and developed, and now host some of the biggest vegan festivals around Europe.
Later this year, Vegfest will be heading to London for their biggest event in the city to date.
