This tiny bakery recently opened in Fulham and has been constantly churning out loaves of sourdough ever since. Stocking all the discerning households of South West London as well as top London restaurants, go early in the morning to avoid disappointment – and enjoy while still warm with your first coffee of the day. Heaven!
Purveyors of dark rye bread, cinnamon buns and strong coffee, this Scandi café has three London locations and provides a welcome dose of calm in the centre of London. The perfectly spiced dough of the cinnamon buns is worth the journey alone.
Remember the cupcake hype of the late Noughties? It originated with Primrose Bakery’s divine pastel-coloured creations. The bakery is still going strong, and cake fans flock from far and wide. Luckily, they’ve now got stores in Kensington and Covent Garden, too. Keep an eye out for new flavours, and don’t leave without trying the Carrot Cupcake.
Italians sure know how to bake, and luckily for us, artisan Milan eatery Princi has set up shop on Wardour Street. Go there for fabulous, fresh breads, Italian pastries and best of all, handmade pizza. It’s no wonder all of Soho’s creative media types go there in their droves come lunchtime…
Discover the wonders of Peruvian baked goods at the newly-opened Andina Panaderia in Westbourne Grove. A much-needed addition to the infinitely cosmopolitan London food scene, specialising in slow-ferment sweet and savoury baking.
Fans of baked goods will be well-acquainted with the legendary Cronut that originated from Dominique Ansel’s New York bakery. The London outpost of course sells the doughnut-croissant hybrid, but is also worth a visit for other creative baked goods rooted in French technique.
