Yet for those looking to maintain a social life, the temptation to stray can be a struggle – particularly as many of us suffer from a serious case of FOMO. Luckily, some of London’s finest bars and restaurants are making things easier for us by including a number of creative mocktails and tasty alcohol-free drinks in their menus. Who said socialising had to be hangover-inducing?

A visit to underground tube-themed bar Cahoots is an experience in itself – so who needs alcohol? Their new No and Low drinks menu features a tasty set of three mocktails made with Seedlip, the world’s first non-alcoholic spirit, including Spice Land Girls: Seedlip Spice 94 topped with mandarin peel, rosemary and peppermint soda. As the name suggests, Shoreditch haunt Redemption offers a number of guilt-free beverages, which can be enjoyed alongside their nourishing vegan menu. Cordials, ferments and alcohol-free ‘Fitbeer’ replace cocktails here: The Pious Pina Colada is a tropical blend of pineapple juice, lemon juice, coconut kefir, coconut yoghurt and coconut milk, while the Activated Charcoal Martini is made up of toxin-grabbing activated charcoal shaken with fresh lemon and maple syrup. A speakeasy-style bar sandwiched in between two cafes in Hoxton, Nightjar is often hailed as one of the capital’s best bars, with an extensive menu of thoughtfully crafted cocktails. But if you’re going teetotal this January, fear not – Nightjar have collaborated with Seedlip to offer drinkers a non-alcoholic option: Pura Sangra, a mix of Seedlip Garden 108, aronia berry juice, grapefruit, starfruit, bee pollen cordial and Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water. Alternatively, if you’re aiming for the first few months of 2019 to be dry-ish as opposed to bone-dry, a whole section of the menu is dedicated to low-alcohol concoctions. Another option for those trying to cut down on alcohol rather than cut it out entirely is the Below 20 pop-up bar at Covent Garden’s Henrietta Hotel. Here you’ll find imaginative low-alcohol tipples featuring spirits containing less than 20 per cent abv. Alongside an extensive Japanese-inspired sushi menu, Mayfair’s Sexy Fish has plenty to offer those partaking in Dry January. Non-alcoholic offerings include Virgin Porn Star, a teetotal take on the popular classic, and Something Tiki, a mix of orange juice, toasted coconut syrup, cream, yuzu and tonka bean. The Savoy Beaufort Bar
At The Savoy’s glamorous Beaufort Bar, mocktails are given as much care and flair as their alcoholic counterparts. Go for one of their ‘Non-Toxic Tonics’, such as The Orchestra, a guilt-free mix of pineapple juice, lemon, red apple syrup and non-alcoholic beer. Or if you fancy something a bit out there, try the Sherwood Forest: a surprisingly tasty concoction of Seedlip, kefir cultured milk, gooseberry jam, egg white and sorrel. Michelin-starred seafood restaurant Angler are launching a non-alcoholic pairing menu for January in collaboration with . Dishes include a starter of Cornish mackerel tartare, oyster cream, apple and shisho, which will be paired with a sweet and sour short drink made up of Seedlip Garden 108, shisho vinegar, lime juice and apple juice. For mains it’s Cornish red gurnard with spiced pumpkin and buttermilk paired with a refreshing long drink of homemade pumpkin juice infused with ginger vinegar and Seedilp spice. 3 South Pl, London EC2M 2AF
The American Bar at The Stafford
Stylish Mayfair cocktail spot The American Bar at The Stafford have added a non-alcoholic option to their drinks menu: The Scoop, a combination of Seedlip with detoxing coconut water, aloe-vera, cucumber and mint. One of the longest surviving American bars in London, The American Bar at The Stafford belongs to the great tradition of American cocktail bars which became renowned in London and Paris during the 20s and 30s. Enjoy panoramic views of the capital from the rooftop terrace of Hotel Indigo, located in central London’s Leicester Square. The Coral Room
The Bloomsbury Hotel’s elegant salon bar, The Coral Room, are offering a selection of Seedilp cocktails this January created by Head Bartender, Stefan Pohlod. Drinks include ‘Seeing In The Dark’, made with Seedlip Spice 94, rhubarb and cardamom syrup, freshly squeezed carrot juice and chia seeds; and ‘Living Coral Cocktail’, with pomelo and pink pepper tonic, cactus water and seaweed. Seedilp makes another appearance at celebrity hotspot Nobu in Shoreditch, where nine alcohol-free cocktails are now available for diners to enjoy alongside their new Nutritious Omakase Menu. Creations include ‘Spritz A Peel’, a tangy drink made with carrot shrub and cold soda; and ‘The Acer’, a coloured assortment of Seedlip Spice, lapsang smoked maple and ginger ale. Rake’s Café Bar
Cafe by day, bar by night, Rake’s is located conveniently next to Liverpool Street station, ideal for inner city dwellers keen for after work socialising. Those partaking in Dry January – or just sensible souls saving themselves a hangover – can choose between a number of mocktails, including ‘The Exotic Escape’, made from Seedilp Garden 108, passionfruit, coconut, soda and tonic; and ‘The Amuse Goose’, featuring gooseberry syrup, rose cordial, mint and elderflower tonic. Feeling peckish? An all-day dining menu is also on offer, with a selection of small plates, salads, burgers and vegetarian dishes.
Celebrated Anatolian restaurant Rüya offers a range of detoxifying drinks alongside their tasty Turkish menu. Taking inspiration from various Antolian regions, non-alcoholic drinks are packed with goodness: the ‘Red Power’ is a refreshing concoction of watermelon, raspberries, lemon juice, honey and pomegranate juice; while ‘Detoxijo’ is made up of cucumber, mint, lime juice, agave and jasmine tea soda.
